image - Unable to render image on UI in jsp page of Spring MVC Application

Question

I am creating a spring mvc application that uses annotation approach rather than spring.xml file as well as dynamic servlet registration which do not use any web.xml.

My application is unable to display any image to UI, otherwise all functionality is working fine.

Following is the WebAppInitializer class:

public class WebAppInitializer implements WebApplicationInitializer{

@Override
public void onStartup(ServletContext servletContext) throws ServletException {
    
    AnnotationConfigWebApplicationContext appContext = new AnnotationConfigWebApplicationContext();
    
    appContext.register(SpringMvcConfig.class);
    
    ServletRegistration.Dynamic dispatcher = servletContext
            .addServlet("SpringDispatcher", new DispatcherServlet(appContext));
    dispatcher.setLoadOnStartup(1);
    dispatcher.addMapping("/");
    
}

}

And, while using an image in jsp like below, which is under "images" folder in WebContent:

I am unable to see image finally on UI and it shows me thumbnail instead like this:

image showing as thumbnail

Could anyone please suggest how can I render images from my "image" folder to UI in spring mvc application.
