node.js - Performance between local database and cloud database

Question

Is there anyone who has tested the performance evaluation between local database and cloud database? I have some options

1. Developing project by installing mongoDB on my server on Digitalocean (local option)
2. Developing project by using Atlas or AWS DynamoDB (cloud option)

What is the performance outcomes between these solutions? Which one would be better in terms of performance?
